Soma Website Launch!
This passed 18 months have been a time for re-invention and for learning skills I wouldn’t otherwise have found the time for…. Though for so many of us, Covid has brought us to our knees financially (worst still for some suffering with their health), it has also been a time for reflection, not just on self, but on the world as a whole.
We will need to live with Covid and it’s many variants as we have had to live with many other viruses, however there is another sad reality of our times and that is Climate Change! It is with climate emergency in mind that my teacher Godfrey Devereux of Radical Ecology believes it is time to change the way we think and behave, even in the way we practice. and so from Dynamic Yoga, Embodied Resilience was born. A moving meditative practice that will recalibrate, re-energise and restore your bodimind, in keeping with these trying times.
So in January 2019 I began my training as an Embodied Resilience Presenter and spent pretty much the whole of 2019 and 2020, learning this beautiful practice which is particularly suited to those going through a tough time.
I recommend Embodied Resilience to beginners as it is a great precursor to Dynamic Yoga and Somatic Awareness. It is also a practice that can be adapted for those with specific needs, and is very versatile.
As restrictions lift, plans to teach workshops and retreats come back to life. The Spanish Rest & Restore Retreat as well as the Health & Wellness Retreat had to be moved to June this year and then again to September. Bookings for these retreats will be available soon. I am also delighted to be able to offer a healing workshop in August in which we will be bathed in the sound of gongs and Tibetan bowls!
Work has resumed with my close friend and partner Colette who lives in Australia to continue co-authoring our book on Kinetic Therapy. A manual to be used in conjunction with workshops when these are again possible and that can be used as a guide to learn how to improve your quality and range of movement for those with muscular skeletal problems and much much more.
Soma has evolved with time as it should to be able to offer you the art of intelligent sequencing and movement. Why not have some fun with Soma Soul sessions where you can let your hair down and flow to the delights of world music.
I am so excited to share all of this with you!
I started this blog in June and it is now October. The website launch is now! What have I been waiting for….! :)
