Try this short practice

Why not try this short practice to prepare your body, through gentle somatic recalibration, to come into stillness and into relaxation. Suitable for anyone willing to feel sensations. This practice is very gentle, but always take the necessary precautions. See note below.

PLEASE NOTE: this practice supports the release of tension around the neck, shoulders and lower back. If you have structural damage to the neck or your lower back, although this is a very gentle practice, always check with your GP before undergoing any form of exercise. SOMA - Bodimind Evolution

Be it Soma Yoga; flowing movement practices, sometimes described as moving meditations, or Pilates (and equipment) to strengthen muscles, mobilise joints, create fluidity in your spine, and improve your range of motion.

Soma Deep Relax supports a quietening and calming down of the mind, and can be practiced seated or lying down.

Replace old habits that no longer serve you, and safely create healthy neuromuscular pathways that will support you for the whole of your life.

The somatic techniques taught will be explored individually, and in sequences to suit all capabilities, and support you to practice safely and effectively.

SOMA Founder Henrietta

Henrietta is a Senior Somatic Movement Educator and has spent many years working with somatic awareness and integration techniques for enhancing the human experience. She is a Radical Ecology Professional and her authority as Presenter is based on the authenticity and commitment of her own personal practice.

When teaching, Henrietta uses clear language that guides you into gentle somatic practices based on slow rhythmic movements guided by sensitivity to sensations, developing pathways of integrity that are deeply nourishing.

Learn how to love yourself, be comfortable in your own skin and feel the sensations that your body generates. As we age it is more important than ever to keep moving intelligently and in a way that is wholly supportive and nourishing for your body.

Henrietta has since completed a one year intensive and comprehensive training programme in Pilates and Equipment Pilates. Teaching daily from the Movement Studio at Healthhaus, Hotel de France, Jersey.

SOMA THERAPY: for Health & Wellness

Soma Therapy is based on the trainings of Kinetic Therapy (a non-invasive method of natural healthcare based on the study of mechanics of body movements), Anatomy & Physiology.

This practice is usually done in the privacy of your own home and the sessions are tailored to suit your personal needs. Be it for an ailment or condition or to get back into shape after an illness, soma therapy offers you the opportunity to become whole again.

Soma Deep Relax draws on Relaxation and Breathing Techniques, including Somatic Intuning (mindfulness), Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Soma Deep Relax practices are an invitation to quieten your mind, and feel the sensations being generated by your body to support a deep relaxation.

Soma Deep Relax can be practiced sitting or lying down using aids to assist your body into being wholly supported, allowing muscles to soften and release, experience a deep sense of peace.

In 2024 I embarked on a one year comprehensive full time training programme in Equipment Pilates and Pilates. I feel this practice strongly supports my teaching. My strength has improved as has my posture. I am interested in Pilates as Rehabilitation and continue my studies in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

This fully clothed practice is based on Tantra Yoga. You will be put in touch with your deeper nature through a wide range of somatic practices that will allow you to assimilate and integrate your spirituality and sexuality.

Soma love invites you to live and love with authenticity, empathy, compassion and generosity.

Soma love is usually practiced in a workshop setting, individually and in groups over a few days to integrate and embody.

Each SOMA practice is designed to support your body in a manner that is wholly beneficial. There are many to choose from, whether you want a meditative, dynamic, or therapeutic practice to support your individual needs.

There are various subscription packages you can choose from. Weekly package with up to 5 classes, monthly package with up to 20 classes and a yearly package with ongoing unlimited practices throughout the year.
